In class we will be learning about the different parts of speech and how they interact with each other in a meaningful way.
In December, we will be studying: Present Perfect Progressive Tense, Gerunds, and more Subordinating Conjunctions. Present Perfect Progressive Tense Verbs show an action that happened over a period of time leading up to the present. We are interested in the action as well as the result, this action may still be going on or may have finished. (ex: We have been working for over three hours on this website.) Gerunds are past tense verbs that change the spelling of the verb from the present to the past tense. (ex: break chages to broke, sleep changes to slept) Subordinating Conjunctions join a main clause with a subordinate clause (ex: Jill came tumbling after Jack fell down the hill.) |
