In class we will be learning about the different parts of speech and how they interact with each other in a meaningful way.
In January, we will be studying: Past Perfect Progressive Tense, more Coordinating Conjunctions, and Singular Possessive Nouns. Past Perfect Progressive Tense Verbs (had + past participle) express the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past. (ex:You had been waiting there for more than two hours when she finally arrived.) Coordinating Conjunctions: are words that join nouns, verbs, and sentences. (ex: Rocky terrorizes the poodles next door yet adores the German shepherd across the street.) Singular Possessive Nouns tell us who (or what) owns or has something. Possessives answer the question "Whose?" to make a singular word possessive, just add 's. |
